MAXINI!
Here, finally, almost a year after the little guy was born, is his birthcard. (Long story.)
So now, we present – born in London, England – Max Luberti.
(Mila’s card is there too, because they sort of belong together, as you can see.)

De Nieuwe Nieuwe S
Here’s two three four new logos for Dennis Gaens – a name that must ring a bell for anyone who visits the JQSQ blog regularly…
[Sound of prairie wind blowing, a wolf howling].
De Nieuwe S is the name of Dennis’s blog, and I’m in the middle of a phase, of sorts – I’m trying to come up with as many new logos for De Nieuwe S as I possibly can.

De Nieuwe Staart, 26 November 2011.

De Nieuwe Slurf, 25 November 2011.

De Nieuwe Stoeptegels, 22 November 2011.
De Nieuwe Slang, 18 November 2011.
The Original JQSQ Logo
This is the first JQSQ logo I ever did, almost three years ago. I thought it might look cool if used on a book cover.
JQSQ, February 2009.
A little while after, I stumbled upon a review of Paul Auster’s Invisible (November 2009) in a Dutch newspaper. The Dutch translation is called ‘Onzichtbaar’, and has a different cover than the American edition. How about that:
Onzichtbaar, Ron van Roon, November 2009.
I’m not suggesting anything. And there are differences of course. Mainly because van Roon took more time to apply embellishments, which are not very intricate or original, but they work wonders nonetheless:
- Letters of various size, placed unequally.
- Shading on the letters.
- Several more colors.
The design won the prize for Best Dutch Book Cover Design in 2009.
Failed Attempt at New Logo
NICE IDEA, but ultimately quite unworkable.
The J and the S on top somehow makes it read like ‘JSQQ’, whereas (the whole world knows) it’s J-Q-S-Q.

K-U-T
Here is my cover for Dutch literary zine Kutgitaar (#2), which I also contributed the John Wayne collage and poem for – see post below.
Kutgitaar is a funny, weird, cosy little zine, void of any pretension, nothing special, move along please and ‘No comment’. That, and the editors have made a resolution to publish only work by people they know personally. Mmm-kay.
Publication date: October 20, 2011

The Grandpa I’m Glad I Never Had
This is a rather old piece of work, say, from 2007. It will however appear afresh in the forthcoming edition (the 2nd) of Dutch literary zine Kutgitaar, accompanied by a poem of mine, no less.
